I love it! You got it back, that environment and style you felt you were missing in the last chapter.
I especially think you did a good job at showing the reader an accurate possession, from both points of view.

Haha, it felt choppy to me reading it without page breaks. In the *.doc files there are little lines that delineate where I change scenes.
I feel M'buto gathering depth. She's supposed to be the ruler of an empire, and that means I can't just cheese her out with lots of cannibalistic blood sex. She has to be slick, glossy, and intelligent, while at the same time brutal and ruthless.
I'm so glad I went back and did that poetry clinic. There were a couple of snappy turns of phrase in there that I couldn't have gotten without it.
The next chapter is already forming scene breaks in my head. Hopefully I can get back on my "chapter a week" horse" and drill this thing out already.
