Game stopped getting past the loading screen after the first time I upgraded my towers.
Not sure if this is a data cache issue or not.
Doesn't run at all on IE, and only ran until my last save on Chrome.
Only leaving this review because I know a lot of game devs use Newgrounds for their game testing/debugging.
Gameplay was faithful to the original, just needs some compatibility tweaks.

Been playing this game like crazy for months, the whole thing is genius. Some of the characters have balance issues, but I'm hoping a lot of that has been patched in the steam version. I held off reviewing/voting on this game until I'd played it for a while, and it's excellent and really over delivers on what should be expected from an online/flash game. 10/10, keep up the good work. And yes, I just bought the steam version, and I'm looking forward to playing the full balanced version.

The concept of the zoom of death is cool, but other than that there's not a whole lot going on here.

Could be a fun game, but the principle on how clicking a virus makes the virus either split or disappear is never explained. Still, I like how the game play could be fast and the soundtrack was at least colorful.

Control was clunky; there was no need for driver-style controls. Not so much as stock music, let alone sound effects. The concepts of how the puzzles are supposed to be fun is never really explained.

Character motion and camera follow were good. Might work with more traps to kill the followers.

Yellow hitboxes could be acorns, maybe. The wasd movement feature seemed pointless, and the game could work fine as a clicker. The damage animation seemed unrelated to clicking the yellow circles, and there was no health stat I could see.

Music choice was pretty good for the style, and the green on black retro computer feel was on point. I could legit enjoy a more completed version.

Thanks for feedback. I'm playing around with concepts right now. The "Health" stat is that the alarm number in the upper right that goes up when hit and, therefore, gradually makes the game harder and ends sooner. It's a bit weird, but that is just my attempt to keep with this LD theme "The more you have, the worse it is"and will probably reject that post-Compo. I went with the wasd movement for dodging because I want to make this into a more punch-out style boxer eventually. I was thinking of making the red attack be flashing sections of screen that you need to keep the cursor out of to dodge, but then I figured that would make the game pretty much a bullet hell. Not bad but not what I want to eventually do with it.

Was the glitching intentional?

It was, wasn't it? Literally all the difficulty came from lag. 1 star based on the idea that maybe the glitching was the game.

Not enough LSD

I wasn't on enough LSD to have this game make sense, but it was a good substitute.

C'mon, pox, you're from debaucherous canada. Hook a NGer up with that sweet, sweet 'cid so I can play your game and have it make complete sense.

poxpower responds:

I got bored at like 10% of trying to make that game like a seizure-inducing drug trip :O

If I was a great coder, I could make a game where you just take drugs and the screen gets all fucked up as you play the game and it gets impossibly hard and insane just because the enemies are flying frogs and you're seeing colors like blurple and grue all over the place.

TWO HANDED!!!

You HAD to have known when you made this game it would be played two handed... AWESOME. Total ambidextrous experience.

Synching up both ships in your head... it was mindblowing. Strangley, it ends up I actually play BETTER left handed... who knew?

I wish ALL shooter games were two handed... it would revolutionize the genre....

Blood just gushing out the motherfucker, and here I am with an electrical cord trying to tie off the damn artery. You ever be laying by the side of the road covered in another man's blood talking to the cops and your girlfriend breaks up with you? I have.
